City Block
The city block is one of the integral elements of the morphology of historical city centres. The perimeter construction forms an open city space – squares and streets – and animates them with public programmes in the ground floor zone. The upper floors are apartments (some of also intended also for business). The perimeter construction of this block establishes two spatial and ambient situations; on the outer side the public space of the street, while the inside is an introverted, intimate courtyard for the tenants who profit most from these typological features.
